Epoxy: Teak and epoxy

Hi, folks-I'm about to start a project (non-kayak related) with some teak I have sitting around; I plan to use epoxy to seal the wood, and am wondering how well teak takes epoxy. The finished product will be subject to extreme weathering. I remember reading somewhere that teak requires treating before using epoxy. Any wisdom/tips/tricks I should be aware of?
