I chose the L because I'm 6'3", 200 pounds and I wanted room for my size 12s. Its plenty big enough for me, but I don't think it would be too big for someone smaller. My wife and my 15 year old son have both paddled it with no problem. I posted a few pics of the finished boat on the board.
