What is the best way of laying up a fibreglass coaming? I designed the boat myself and am trying to figure out how to place the cockpit. I know where the center of bouyancy is. How far behind the CB should my seat be? It's a 20 foot overall boat. I'm thinking a glass coaming will be the best. I need to figure out how to lay it up though. I'm thinking about using a piece of foam rubber cemented to the deck as a riser then plastic over the foam only. Glue the plastic on then cut it off around the coaming area so I can pull the foam out when the glass is all set up and attached to the boat. Will this work?
