I had more trouble with the epoxy dust getting on my legs and causing a nasty rash that needed steroid shots to fix. The tyvek suit, respirator, and goggles are now required tools when sanding wood or epoxy. I also got a cheap box fan with a furnace filter taped to the back sucking away any dust that the dust collector doesn't get. As for the light wood, I had pine next to ebony & paduk and ran into the same problem. Just has to do some detail sanding on the light wood to clean it up. Good luck.
