: What is the best way to deal with the raised edge in the back of the coaming
: recess on a Guillemot. I have thought of a few, which involve using 2
: strips, but wondered if I am missing something. I can not figure how a
: solid piece could fit across with the raised edge. I almost took a
: "good enough" approach last night. I decided to wait and ask
: those who have been there.
I did something different, I took a piece of 1X6 net redwood flat sawn and fit it as a starter piece. It only fit at the edge only, it stands proud above and below the deck. After the yellow glue set I shaped it to match the deck. The wood grain shows great figure. I put in compound curves to keep water from standing at the back edge of the coaming, also looks cool.
