Here is the first of many questions I'm sure ...
So far I have my plans (Redfish King), wood (a great source for top-grade WRC in the Portland OR area is P&W Cedar), milled & numbered the strips, built the strongback, attached the risers, and clamped on the forms.
When I check the forms for fair by clamping on a strip, the Keel line looks good and the waterline looks good, but the sheer line shows one form (#10 I think) out of alignment by about 1/2 inch. I was really careful sanding the form to the line when shaping it. The only fix I can see is to take this form down and sand the sheer line down until it lines up with the strip. I guess I'll have to try to create a nice curve down to the new sheer point on this form.
Is this the right way to go? Or is there another option I am missing?
Thanks for any help. I read this board regularly and have gotten a ton of help/ideas/inspiration just from reading.
Steve
PS- I'm still sketching deck designs. I'm over 100 now and I think I have 4 or 5 I like.
