I built a CH16 with tape only on the inside and a piece of fiberglass in the cockpit area. It has held up to some pretty good abuse.

Now, when I got a cart for it and stationed the cart about under the rear hatch, I got 6 to 10 inch cracks along the length of the hull in that area. The cracks don't go through the fiberglass on the outside of the hull so I'm guessing they are not a concern as long as I don't continue to stress the same spot. I alway put the cart under a bulkhead now.

If I were to do it again, I still wouldn't put glass over the entire inside, just a few strategic spots.
