There's a topic over on the Bear Mountain BBS on seat position and weathercocking. I started thinking about it (dangerous) and I have a very rough idea of how I'd do a sliding seat. I think I'd put a .25"x.75" aluminum or CF ridge down the center of my cockpit and imbed a matching slot into the seat bottom. The seat could then slide fore/aft along the ridge. The seat bottom would be thin plywood covered with mincel foam. I would mount ball bearings into the seat bottom to help the seat roll along the cockpit floor (those are the four "eyeball" shapes). Spring pins fore/aft would hold the seat to the rail. The ridge would fall right where the seat is most padded so the seat wouldn't be raised that much. The seatback is not drawn - I would have to work it into the frame somewhere. The footpegs would be a separate adjustment. I've never seen one of these sliders in person. Is this one too wacky, doable, worth it/not worth it?
