I have used the 3.25 on a couple of kayaks, and it is what I prefer to use. I bought some of the 5 oz, but have not used it yet. The 3.25 wets out nicely and conforms better that standart 6 oz. It also takes much less epoxy to fill the weave. The 3.25 satin glass is also much less visible than standard weaves. The first time I used the 3.25, I put 2-3 layers on the outside bottom of the hull and one layer everywhere else, with extra reinforcements in stress areas. The kayak has held up well, it gets abused and is regularly stored outside.
