I know what you speak of. I fish and explore a lot in my kayak, traveling many more miles than most of the people I know also fishing in kayaks. The animals, birds...and even fish just don't seem to get spooked as much by a kayak. You see things from a different perspective than the water rockets get. As for getting hooked on building kayaks, or other boats...well...I have been for over 43 years, since I built my first one. In order of preference I like to build, explore, and fish from the kayaks. And don't worry about saying it is cold in Texas. I have lived and worked in just about all the Rocky Mountain states, Florida, and for the last 12 years, in Texas....and it gets cold in all those places.
