I'm doing some cosmetic work on a wing paddle I bought used.

The paddle was a 3 piece kit that the dealer cut to length and glued the blades into the shaft. The dealer did a sloppy job and wraped a piece of glass around the seam and covered the seam with electrical tape.

The joint is secure but looks lousy with the tape hiding the ugly joints. I sanded off the glass tape and smoothed the transition with sand paper.

While sanding, it smelled like polyester resin was used. My question is : Can I use epoxy/glass to make the cosmetic repair if it is going over polyester resin?
