After one year, I want to do a little refinish to my Endeavour, particularly the hull, which has many scratches. The original finish is several coats of Epiphane varnish. I feel that this finish may not be the most abrasive-resistant, and it has the disadvantage that it should not be applied in the cool/cold temperatures of my unheated garage. I am considering recoating with clear urethane (after a light 220 sanding) Any comments or cautions? Does anyone have any experience with Bristol Finish? This is a very expensive 3-part acrylic urethane, traditional amber, said to be very tough, UV resistant, and can be applied at freezing temperatures. It is apparently fully compatible over sound varnish.
