Hi Pascal. I had problems with my router setup too and ended up just buiding a small router table. It consisted of a few pieces of scrap walnut and a handful of hardware. I wouldn't say it was the easiest way to go but it did buy me a level of control. Next time I would have the screws pass through arc-shaped slots... they start to bind if they are not aligned perfectly with the holes.

The fence would normally straddle the bit but I have it moved back for the picture. One of the other builders also had an idea to use a zero clearance fence which could be cool. I would get the height set and then slowly move the fence into the bit to let it make its own opening.

Just a few ideas, let us know how it turns out.
