Bill's boats are not that much of a departure from traditonal Inuit and Aleut construction; they're just larger and he laminates most of the parts for increased stability and durability. I suggest you pick up one or more of the books listed on the Qajaq USA site (Morris, Starr, Cunningham, Petersen). These will explain the basic building method, with minor variations depending on the author's perferences.
