Thanks for the link. I'm going to glass this thing, since I've put so much work into the reshaped keel on this boat, but then I'm going to put a fin box in and try it out. What do I have to lose... it will be an easy install and if it doesn't work I'll just pop in a strip of wood where the fin goes. This also gives me an idea regarding my future plans for a sail rig. I could use two fin boxes to install a large finned keel with a small lead weight for ballast when sailing. The finned keel could be removed easily for beach camping, storage, or use without the sail rig. It would be easier to deal with than a leeboard. Well, on to glassing. Good gosh I hate this part. Perhaps I will post some pics soon.
