I have finally decided to put hatches in my Arctic Tern after several years of using float bags. I have cut the holes, installed a lip under the hole and plan to use the part I cut out as the lid. The deck is reasonably peaked in the bow and somewhat flatter in the stern.
I am looking for a simple but reliable way to batten down the hatches.
Here's what I am considering:
1. Bungee criss-crossed over the hatch and led through small padeyes.
2. Nylon straps with typical plastic buckles.
3. Anything else somebody can recommend.
Any thoughts?
