If you tell the guys at Jackel what you want to build, they will let you pick your own boards. Be it wood for a paddle, or a whole boat, they have genuine interest in what other people are doing with their products. Good small town folks that are easy to deal with, something hard to find in CA (don't know why ) I drove there from Stocktown, well worth the trip (like I need an excuse to get out of town....) I haven't tried any of the places near the bay. I seem to have some kind of aversion to traffic.
You are going to keep us posted with progress pics, Right? I always like looking at what is new and of course cutting edge in yak building and I know I'm not alone. So join us and share what ya got.
