Ah, Shawn! -I- couldn't tell you 'cause -I- couldn't get going before going over! There are at least two good reasons for this: I am a complete and total neophyte (today was my first time in a kayak other than having fallen in this one during construction) and I made mine 18' long (just for the heck of it)...

Anyway, for the curious, she has been baptized LavernII. (Unfortunately Lavern was immolated before being baptized and is now surely hanging out in 'yak purgatory...) Anyway, note that Lavern is a simple anagram for vernal - hey! It's Spring! And her construction was inpired by a group of guys known as the Verns. But boats have to be girls and the 'la' takes care of that nicely!
