: Hi Robert -

: If the glass hasn't delaminated from the kevlar (sounds like a tough boat),
: I'd just use epoxy tinted to match the hull with a saran wrap cover to

: Q700 and they recommended a simple fix of using a dremel to grind out the
: damaged gel coat cracks, not the glass, then repairing.

Well, the wood has been crushed under the glass so delamination over the affected area is a given. I was thinking of using a dremmel to remove the gel coat so we are on the same track. I was thinking that if I left the old glass alone then topped it off with a patch then that area would be a little tougher next time I do something I don't realize that bumps the area again. The kevlar is bulging in the cockpit and the bulge has the crushed wood in it. I figure this should work as good fill if I fill the bulge with the epoxy. I'm not thinking of patching the inside coz I figure patching the outside will offer improved protection already. I don't need to tint the glue coz the damage occurred on the part of the hull that had been treated with graphite powder, so when I do the repair I'll simply use more graphite. Hence, the patch won't be noticeable. Thanks for the advice, now I know I'm on track here. I have to be more careful whenever I bounce the yak off things so I know how these things happen. Has anyone else had this happen to them, finding a hole/deep gouge you didn't realize was there before?
