Strip: Pre-varnish wash down? *LINK*

I have very nearly finished the wet sanding of the complete outside of the hull and deck prior to varnishing. I have to say that was some of the most miserable work yet, though probably the highest overall payback.

My question is this: I have read several posts that mention a post-sanding wash down with soap and water before varnishing. Does anyone have an opinion (dangerous question) on the best soap to use for the wash down?

Also, how long should one wait for epoxy to cure prior to varnishing?

Regards,

Marcel
