I agree with the comments made so far....delamination and/or poor quality control. Injecting, or filling, with epoxy should take care of the problem. One of the reasons marine epoxy is so expensive is so this will never happen. I'm glad to see your still working on the canoe. Just think how neat this is going to be when you get finished. You'll be an old pro on the next one.
