: I pretty much installed the lines the same way. I did peg my lines in a la
: Cunnigham but I dipped the pegs in epoxy and smooshed around in the hole
: to seal it. I then brushed uerethane into the line, especially around the
: hole, to hopefully stop/minimize any capillary action of the water. When
: everything dried out, I brushed some more epoxy around the holes and the
: lines where it enters into the gunwales. I got little clear epoxy bumps
: but I think minimal seepage. I get more water coming through my
: skirt/tuiliq than through the lines in the gunwales.

So I take it that there is a number of different ways to do this and I thank you all for your help. I guess if one way doesn't suit me I can always try a different method on the next one.I thank everyone for thier advice and experiences.
Lets try this one on then. If anyone(and I am sure there is)has Arimas Inuit Kayaks in Canada, on page 219 is the North Baffinland(?) Kayak and it has what is termed an idiosyncratic detail, a series of small braided loops along the gunwales fore and aft the cockpit. These are presumably for securing a load on the deck. They are run through the gunwales(?) and come out the tops of them. Does anyone know how this would be accomplished? Also, the Little Kayak Book II shows a Labrador kayak, bKr-10, which has loops at the bow and stern for securing this and that and they appear to go down through the deck(into a deck beam?).Any ideas on either of these two details would be greatly appreciated. I think I want this deck rigging setup if we can figure out how to do it.
