Strip: Raka 5oz wet out

I have done a test plate to check out my skills at wetting out the glass. This is my first time. I am using the Raka 5oz and have followed Larry's directions.

After two fill coats the surface is very smooth. If I look straight into the finish the glass is invisible everywhere except against a black transparency overlay I have been experimenting with. If I take the board into direct sunlight and tilt it back and forth, I can see some "sparkles" from the weave.

Is this normal or am I not quite there?

Oh by the way...re. previous question about surface finish prior to glass, I rough sanded the hull after having a conversation with the nice folks at Gougeon Bros. I hated it but better safe than really grumpy later.

Thanks,
Russ
