In each issue of the Masik http://www.qajaqusa.org/QUSA/newsletter.html, I would like to include a column on self-built traditional style boats. Some or all of the following information (or other), I believe would be of interest to our readers.

Builder: Name, location (country, city, state), contact information (email address, website)

Picture(s): overall view, details, special characteristics.

Specifications: length, width, deck height at coaming front and rear, weight, freeboard.

Design: Designer, design modifications, boat type (West Greenland, Baidarka Arctic, kids, rolling, unique, etc.), customization.

Construction: materials (frame, skin, deck rigging), method (plans, books, etc.), special techniques or problems, time to build.

Performance: handling (wind and waves), tracking, rolling.

For publication in the Masik, please send in information on your homemade traditional boat to bobby@qajaqusa.org.

Keep in mind the following deadlines for submittals: Summer issue June 15th. Fall issue September 12th.
