Folks:

Someone give me a hint at how to start those first strips in the recess area on my Guillemot. I've cut the thing and cleaned the edges. But I'm having a hell of a time fitting the first strip at the back and the first strip at the front. Not only do these need to be cut to fit, but the deck curvature works against me as well. It almost seems like I should double the thickness of the first strip, match the round (or pointed in front) end and sand it down after the glues dries.

Any input?
