Thank you, Gerald. I saw the rig you mentioned, in response to my query on another building forum. But how did he get his platform to conform to the shape of his deck? I wrote and asked him, and now await a reply. I was trying to figure it out when my idea struck me, and thus enabled me to go fishing today. Alas, I forgot about that dental appointment... Argh... But boy, do I ever have healthy choppers now!

Anyway, the shortcoming of my rig is that it only handles one rod. I wish to carry a spare. Also, I'm not too sure I would want to troll with anything less than a hard-mounted holder. But you have more experience with this sort of thing than I. What do you think of it?
