Strip: Coaming question

I'm about ready to glass the coaming lip (step 9 on p 115 of Nick's book). It seems unlikely to me that I'll be able to get the fiberglass to wrap from inside the stockade to the top of the lip and then around the edge of the lip to the under-lip. Will it be enough to have a good solid layer of fiberglass from the inner stockade to the top of lip and end at the edge of the lip (and just make sure that the under-lip is well coated with epoxy)?

As always, thanks!
