Hello everyone,

And a very heartfelt thanks for all the advice. Of course I must thank Nick Schade for the book and the bulletin board, and Eric Schade for a wonderful design.

It was a beautiful day at Lyndquist beach, which is off the beaten path so only locals go there. Lyndquist is surrounded by coral reefs and has a sand bottom so it has that classic Caribbean blue water... do not adjust the color on your set! This boat is FAST! I'm so happy now. I built her a) to fulfill a dream of building a kayak, and b) because I couldn't find a commercially built design that offered the length, narrow beam, and capacity of the Atlantic.

She tracks like an arrow. She was a little difficult to turn at first, but I found that it just took a little more lean, and I was able to spin her around rather well.

I got to see how strong she was, as she soon attracted all sorts of local children, who decided it would be fun to climb up on the deck. I think I had four on the deck and six or seven hanging on the sides.

Hopefully below is a pic, and then I will post more pics in separate posts.
