Launching: Another Osprey gets wet (and a Question) *LINK*

Well, she's finally wet from more than wet/dry sandpaper. Posting mostly to say thanks for all of the help and encouragement over the past months (years thru lurking and archives.) The link will take you to a few pic's if interested. No finish close-ups here. Folks who don't know any better think it's beautiful, but... well, you know the story.

And a question. First day out, I managed to run it headlong into an I-beam that someone had cut off just at the water's surface. Stopped me dead. Thought for sure it was going to be ugly, but it hit right on the stem at the waterline. Three layers of glass there, it didn't even make a decent scratch. But I do have a glass 'bruise' about the size of a dime. I'm thinking I can grind over it a little to open up the glass, then give it a dollop of epoxy. More about ensuring waterproofness - I'm fairly certain there's no real structural damage. Should I do more, and how can I tell?

The okay part of the story - it happened right in front of a crowd of family. Everybody gasped and ran like I just dropped a baby. Before I saw the damage I said "Oh, relax. I built it, I broke it - I can fix it." Calmed everyone down immediately. Then I realized what I had said and that it was true - and I calmed down myself.
