Strip: hatch seals & bulkheads *LINK*

Hello everyone,

I went to 3 stores to try and find neoprene weatherstripping for the hatch seals, to no avail. I also could not locate any mini-cell foam for the bulkheads. My question is what mini cell foam is normally used for (is it the blue insulation for houses?) and same for the weatherstripping (automotive?). I’ve had trouble trying to find things, especially in a small town, and it is difficult since most items used on the kayak are products ‘borrowed’ from another industry with a completely different use. Most store employees look at me like I have two heads whenever I tell them what I’m using it for. Perhaps someone has had some luck with other materials that they can share. I plan on doing some 2-3 day trips and would like to have a good seal on the hatches. Also, if anyone has had luck with other types of bulkhead materials I'd like to hear about it too.
Thanks,
James Nixon
