Remember that 3/4" cove and bead strips only cover 5/8". Measure the circumference of the hull at it's widest point (in inches). Divide the circumference by .625 (5/8"). That should give you the number of strips you need to go around the boat. Multiply the number of strips by the length of the boat to get linear feet of strips. I always like to get a few more strips than I need to allow for breakage and to match and contrast colors, but the basic calculation will give you enought wood to finish your project.
