I was at the lake paddling the other day, and watched a Blue Heron. The Heron is a large and graceful bird, it looks effortless flying. Its a peaceful critter, tries to get along with its neighbors. As you paddle along, it will fly up the shore about 200 yards. Then as you catch up to it, it will go another 200 yards. It will do this at least twice, usually three or four times. Finally it will lose patience and fly off to the other shore. Never does it occur to the bird to simply go the other way, as you are paddling forward and would henceforth not bother it if it were behind you.... Kind of funny, I think.

So the question is this - do a Night Heron and a Blue Heron have anything in common? :)
