S&G: Misaligned panels at stern. What to do? *Pic*

Okay, the hull is together, the panels line up perfectly at the bow, the joints are all in line, but the panels at the stern are somewhat jagged. It looks like about 1/16" off. What to do? Sand the ends even? Just leave it? Is this a good excuse to buy a plane?? I don't know if it makes a difference performance wise, but I just don't like the look of it. I've emailed the kit maker (Water's Dancing) but they are sometimes slow to respond to their emails. I'm not sure what caused this, but I suspect it was due to the fact that the puzzle joints had a little bit of play in them while I was joining the hull panels.

Thanks in advance for your advice.
