Strip: Glue or Epoxy on Glassed surface?

"Hey", folks. I'm working on the cockpit. The risers are in, with glass on both sides. I'm about to do the lip using laminated strips wrapped around the risers.

Nick's book says to use either glue or thickened epoxy to adhere the lip. The way I'm reading that section, it sounds like he already has the outside risers glassed, so therefore, he's saying that glue would be fine. I just want to make sure that I'm understanding that properly. Clearly, the epoxy will work fine, but I'd rather use the yellow glue. I prefer the glue simply because I'll be using some heat to make the bend, and with yellow glue, I have all the time in the world, but with the epoxy, I have to race against pot life.

So, Can I really use yellow glue on a glassed surface?
