Hi folks.

Based on a number of things going on in my life -- primarily work related -- I had about a one-year 'yak building hiatus. Hence the building logs at http://www.supakoo.com/rick/kayak had not been updated for over a year. It was ok, the boat was in two pieces but fully 'glassed, so letting it sit for a bit didn't do any damage.

I'm back in business now, I hope. Today I cut the hatches (yay!) and really don't have too much work left to do to get this thing wet. FWIW, I held my breath and did a plunge-cut with a jigsaw on the hatches. Then I followed someone else's advice (from this list, I think) and had a nice, cold beer after the hatches were out. Worked quite smoothly.

Thanks to all who sent me messages over the past year encouraging me to get back into building and finish this thing. Hopefully the logs have proved helpful -- in searching the 'net I even found one guy measuring his own 'yak building progress by the "supakoo scale". Hopefully he can build more consistently than I can.

And thanks again to Nick for a great boat design and for good documentation on how to go about building it.

Side question: How long can unmixed fiberglass epoxy sit and still be good? I've got some system three clearcoat that's been sitting for about a year. I'd like to use it, and can't see why it wouldn't be ok, but thought I'd check first since someone here would surely know.

Thanks again folks!
