Strip: Saw some nice boats.

A local builder finished up my wife's strip kayak a couple weeks ago. I thought it was beautiful. Because we were going on vacation, the builder asked me to stop at a beach that was only a couple hours out of our way.

I show up at the beach one morning with my wife and the kayak. On the beach there is an older fellow siting in a chair next to an old beat up strip kayak. I walk over to talk with him. Before I can say a word he catches sight of my wife's kayak.

He starts telling me about my wife's kayak. Things he should not know and can not possibley see.

He invites me, my wife, and the kayak to lunch. We drove a few miles to a small building where he is building boats this summer with an apprentice. (He tells me my local builder was his apprentice once, also.)

They makes us a nice lunch, and show us their work, and then they haul the wife's kayak into the shop to look at it while we look at their kayaks and their shop.

I am sure that different people are attracted to different styles of art, but you guys are sure missing something.

I thought my wife's kayak was beautiful, but the boats I saw there were something else.

Since no one else mentions this builder's name, I will not.
