Material: Uses for Mouse Pads

"Hey".

The pack rat scavenger in me came out today. Some of our IT folks responsible for equipment were tossing a stack of mouse pads (they seem to reproduce like rabbits, don't they).

So, I'm thinking of uses for them. Here's some "possible" uses I came up with... are you folks using them for anything?

1. Cement pieces of it where my ankles come in contact with the boat.

2. Glue them to a stiffener for a back band (some types of pads are heavy, but others are fairly light.

3. Cement them to the cheek plates for some extra padding.

4. Stand on them when I'm working on the boat, or kneel on them. Sure beats a concrete floor!

5. I'm making a few pencil cups from short scraps of B&C cedar. Line the inside of one with a piece of the pad, and use it as a 12 oz. beverage can cooler (we call them "Huggies" around these parts).

6. Throw them away and don't admit to anyone that I ever scavenged them. Then, seek counseling.

What else? Are any of you folks using them in your boat building process?
