Strip: our first "yak" is finally finished - *LINK*

I've been quitely learning all I can from this board since the fall and I'd like to express my appreciation for all the help I have received. It's now time to share our first effort. We will replace the white rudder line once we can find black line in 3/16. The rudder is home built out of carbon fiber using One Ocean Kayak's plans (which were excellent). The weave in the hull was cut out (1/8 deep) with a router before the planks were put on the boat. The "French banding" along the centerline is between 70 and 100 years old - it's all face grain - the company that made it went broke in '29. She tracks like a dream - the rear hatch was made oversize to accomodate our 60lb dog who hates to be left a home. (we made a deck protecting cover that goes around the rear hatch to stop scratchs)
Hopefully the link will work account name is ianjames password is heila then go to albums & open "our first kayak project"
cheers..ian
