To all of you making the migration to Port Townsend for R2K3, over 3 million Pink Salmon are also making the Migration to the Puget Sound this summer. The peak of the run should show up any day now. The chances are very good for catching a couple of them. I typically fish from Point Wilson -- the light house at Fort Warden State Park -- with pink buzz bombs. The first two and the last two hours of day light as well as slack high tide are good times to try your luck. There is a four fish daily limit, no more than 2 Coho, Chinook and Chum release. That means up to four pinks. Fishing from your kayak is a possibility during slack tides, but during big flows, you would be paddling constantly to hold position. I cast from shore. See you all this weekend.
