Strip: Installing Seal-Line Footbraces

Hello Everyone,

For those of you that have the Seal-Line footbraces installed in a stripper, how did you do it? Did you use elongated screws, or will this idea work:

Screw the footbraces into a cedar strip, with the screw mounted flush. Epoxy the cedar strip to the hull with lots of thickener.

The doggone screws are too short to go through the 1/4" hull, and I hate to have screw heads on the outside of the boat. I was thinking I could install studs, but did not realize these are screw mounted. Any suggestions? I need to get these installed by Sunday.

Thanks,

Malcolm
