Strip: Unruly 14' Auk - Skeg? Keel?

There's still sanding and varnishing to be done on our 14 foot version of the Auk, but we got it in the water this week for a try out. I realize now that to reduce the rocker on a shorter version would have been a good thing, but it didn't occur to me when I set up the forms ( is that while you all keep building?). Anyway, it's good and stable for the paddlers, but they are finding it hard to keep the boat going straight. Since it will be used mostly in a relatively quiet twisty river some ease in turning is great, but on the lake it was kind of a problem. Can you give some advice on how to remedy this situation? Thanks, all.
