S&G: Adding thigh braces to a Pygmy

I've been paddling the AT14 for a little over a year now. I really like the boat, but the cockpit is, well, cavernous. So I purchased the thigh braces from Pygmy, and now am at a loss as to where to place them.

What feels right doesn't look right. They would be roughly 1/2 way into the length of the cockpit and it just looks funny for some reason. Anyone have any pics or advise?

Thanks

Larry
