Manufactured boats normally have a Hull Identification Number (HIN) etched into the stern. My intention was to apply for a HIN then the Canadian Coast Guard sent me a lengthy document, part of which explains how to apply for a HIN! The author must be the same guy who writes documentation for software! Some day I will get around to filling the form in.

Anyway...has anyone had problems crossing the Canada/US border with wood boats? I seem to recall Shawn writing that he carries a picture of himself working on his boat.

Any insight would be appreciated.
