Here are the latest photos of my Cuervo Fat Boy SOF. The hull has 6oz glass on top of 8oz Dyson nylon with several tones of blue pigmented epoxy sponged on. The deck was built with Jose Cuervo coasters fore and aft and the cockpit recess is cotton fabric with a Southwestern motif placed over a thick plastic film for storm windows. Still needs foot pegs (foam), the coaming (carbon fiber), and a skeg (or better yet a motor). Paddling this boat sucks! It just won't go straight nor will it go fast. It may make a good river fishing boat, or I'll just let the kids keep playing with it (even though it's huge for them).
Fun project that gets lots of comments when we take it out. It's interesting to see the look on people's faces when they realize that the deck is made out of drink coasters. Some ask "How...?" Most ask "Why...?"
I just shrug my shoulders and give 'em a look like this .
