I've been reading the threads here for some time and noticed the conversations on using Microsoft Visio for lofting offsets. I came across a copy of the 2002 professional version and tried it. Took about an hour learning curve, but I'm ready to offset anything now... My first project will be a Wee Lassie right out of the Featherwieght book, It's a perfect "practice boat" (practice building that is) since I have 2 daughters and a wife in the proper size range for this boat.

I'm going to be experimenting with 1/8" stips supplemented by as least one layer of Sglass in addition to the recommended Eglass just to see how that works out before I try MY boat. (My boat will be a canoe also,... hope ya'll don’t mind canoe discussion here....) I'm also going to give cheap Home-Depot western red cedar fence boards a try for this "practice" boat....

I was able to print the full size plan on my regular printer then easily assemble the pages jigsaw fashion, tap them and cut. Each form is it's own color to make things even easier to keep them straight... awsome.

BTW anyone have offsets for a 3/27 or 4/32 cruiser?? or one of those super skinny "unlimited" canoes???
