Seeking: Advice on sailrig

Hi,

I am currently building an older design double kayak ( 16') plans sold by a company in New Zealand. I don't imagine it is a remarkable design. But, it should do what I want. But, I would like to rig it for sail. I will probably not be using it heavily. Therefore, I am thinking of trying to do something with an old sailboard sail that I own. I am a little confused, however about which rigs would be best, etc. Can anyone offer advice on what I should do? Try to rig this sail? and if so, how? Or, go out and buy a commercial sail?
thanks, Joe
