Chip, as a matter of fact, I AM thinking about SOFs. You say a 19" beam gives you hands-off stability? Would you put your paddle down, and look up into a tree with binoculars, say? (I don't know how many of you have tried this; it makes even the MC13 feel tipsy... even still!)

I just got the Morris book this day, and already skimmed it over. Looks like a relaxing night of reading ahead...
