Just read an interesting (?) article at Maine Island Kayak Co. library. "The Impact of Color on Boat Performance" lays out "evidence" (page 1; 3rd paragraph) that the color of your kayak will affect it's handling, stability, and efficiency. What?

Does this make sense? I've heard Tom Bergh (owner of MIKCo) speak several times and I would expect anything but straight up facts from him.

A white boat rides high? A black hull & white deck kayak (the famous "Meecham Combination") is well balanced? How about this classic Nigel Dennis quote: "Yellow is the heaviest color our boats are made of"??

What's your take?
