S&G: no sheer clamps?

I'm a veteran of the CLC stitch-and-glue wars ready to take on a s&g night heron. I'm concerned about the boat's lack of sheer clamps, however, which on some boats make installing the deck a breeze.

Any night heron or other Shade s&g builders have particular insights, warnings, shortcuts, or caveats for building a stitch and glue the Schade way, i.e., without sheer clamps?

Seems like gluing inside side panels to a deck edge seam with pre-satured tape seems like it could be a real pain.
