Other: Making a Compression Bag

After looking at the prices for waterproof compression bags I thought why not make my own?

I have on hand a 20L Sealine waterproof bag, the solid colour rubberized style. I also have a zillion float bag nozzles as supplied by Shawn Baker this spring. Could I join the two to make a suitable compression bag?

Alternately I thought about going to the dollar store to get a plastic food container that has one of those flip top openings about the size of a quarter. They appear similar to the opening style on the compression bags.

I have tub caulking on hand. Would this be an appropriate glue?

Thanks in advance, grant
